Consists of thirteen letters from William Hart Bowman and his wife, Elizabeth Maney Bowman, of Mississippi, to her father, Maj. William Maney of Franklin, Tennessee; two telegrams from William Hardeman to Maj. Maney concerning W.H. Bowman's death; six photographs of Elizabeth Maney Bowman, her four sons, and the William Maney home in Franklin; and an undated sketch about the Maney and Bowman families by Virginia McDaniel Bowman. The letters chiefly concern family news and life on a cotton plantation near Tivoli, Mississippi.
